Het begon allemaal met een schrijfwedstrijd in het tijdschrift Vriendin waar mijn schrijfmaatje Tamara (Haagmans) mij op wees. Het thema was -hoe kan het ook anders- vriendin en het genre chicklit. Met nog weinig dagen op de teller begon ik als een idioot te schrijven, want aan ideeën heb ik meestal geen gebrek (dus wie ooit riep; elke gek zijn gebrek, zat er werkelijk mijlenver naast).
Het resulteerde in een ruwe versie van een manuscript en daar heb ik aan gesleuteld tot de deadline me onverbiddelijk maande het in te sturen. Ik -je raadt het al- won de wedstrijd helaas niet, maar was wel zo eigenwijs om het naar een uitgever te sturen.
En nu ligt de eerste versie van Hartsvriendin gezocht op het bureau van de redacteur van uitgeverij Ellessy en gaan we de aankomende periode aan het werk om er een fantastisch boek van te maken dat dit voorjaar gaat verschijnen.
En daarnaast zal ik hier regelmatig berichtjes delen. Niet alleen over de voortgang van het boek, maar ook van mijn wervelende schrijversbestaan (of bruut eerlijk; laat dat ‘wervelende’ maar weg), mijn nog veel spannender avonturen met mijn collega’s op het accountantskantoor waar ik werk (echt, ‘the Office’ is er niets bij) en natuurlijk mijn bestaan als single moeder van 3 kinderen, diamantjes, of nee, pareltjes die ik aan de mensheid gun; echt geweldig zijn ze, daar zal menigeen heel blij van worden (vooral de juf op school).
